
Peter Kovacs, a native of Hungary, started with Gymnastics and Martial Arts at the
age of 5. In his teen years, he began Ballroom Dancing, quickly rising to Open Gold Amateur status.
By the time Peter was 17, he won several IDSF organized Latin and Standard competitions. He competed in Latin dance for 7 years in the Open Gold division. He has performed in Hungary, Austria, Germany, Romania and the United States (such as MASSABDA, K and S, Wendy Johnson Extravaganza and many Private functions).
Peter teaches a wide range of students from wedding couples, social to advanced Ballroom dancers and highly competitive Pro-Am dance competition students. He takes pride in teaching his competitive students, whom have risen to win Open Gold and finals at World Pro-Am Championships. Peter holds a B.A. in both Pedagogy and Mathematics from the Ferenc Kolcsey Presbyterian Pedagogical Institute in Debrecen, Hungary.
He coaches several collegiate Ballroom dance teams such as Harvard, Brandeis, MIT, and Northeastern. Mr. Kovacs' Rhythm and Latin Group classes are very popular with all students in the Ballroom dance community. He is available for private one on one instruction, group classes and as a DJ for private events. A professional dance instructor for SuperShag Dance Studios, he specializes in Latin, Rhythm, Smooth, Standard, Salsa and Swing dance instruction.
